Our Sister School

 

We were lucky enough to have several students and teachers from our sister school in China visit our classrooms for the past couple of weeks.  Many of our students even served as host families. What an great opportunity.

Gary Hogg Assembly and Workshop

 

Gary Hogg

 

 

 Gary Hogg is the author of  the "Charlie Bacon" books. 

We were lucky enough to have him come to our school today for an assembly.  He discussed how to be an author and shared an excerpt from his book.

 

After the assembly, second grade was able to attend a writing workshop with Mr. Hogg. It was fantastic! We learned lots of techniques to improve our writing through word choice.

Thank you for taking the time to meet with us.  All of our second graders are working hard and doing amazing things.  We have lots of goals to reach this year in our classrooms and we appreciate all of your support from home. 

Surprise Science Guest

Today we had a surprise visit from another Mrs. DeVries!

 

 

She works at Utah State University in the Veterinary  

 Science Program and stopped by on her way to another school. 

 

 

 

 She told us all about becoming a veterinarian and showed us some examples of what students study in school.
